Get all the information about dental anesthesia! Say farewell to pain for ever!

A lot of patients admit us on the occasion of our first meeting that they were procrastinating to ask for an appointment because they were afraid of the pain caused by the treatment. However, this is not a good tactic because as time goes by problems will be more and more serious and more extensive. So, it can happen that instead of a simple dental filling finally there will be a need for an implantation. Fortunately, with using up-to-date dental materials dental procedures will take place painlessly from to first step to the last one. This way, You can always sit into the dental chair without any fear at every occasion in case of any treatment.

Of course, at every treatment building trust between the patient and doctor is the primary consideration which is greatly supported by high quality and efficient materials and equipment.

How does local anesthesia happen?

After having set up the treatment plan, the doctor chooses the injection needle and the pre- filled syringe needed for the treated tooth and then he/she disinfects the tools. Following that
the anesthetic solution will be chosen which perfectly matches the treatment and the condition of the patient. In case the patient has butterflies in the stomach from the sight of the injection needle, we will put some anesthetic gel on the puncture location. This way from the first step we can protect You from any inconvenience.

The lower and upper dentures are in focus – What is the difference between them?

It is very essential for the patient to eat and drink before every dental treatment since until full sensation comes back these activities have to be avoided because the mucous membrane and the tongue can be easily damaged.

We have to make a difference between the anesthetic method of the lower and upper dentures because the compactness their bony substance is different. Therefore, in case of the
lower denture a so-called conductive local anesthesia is applied and this way the injection has its effect right next to the nerve making the whole side insensitive including the tongue and face as well.

During the treatments at the upper teeth, anesthesia is only performed in the environment of the treated tooth with a terminal method which is allowed by the less compact bony substance of the upper-jaw bone.

The most modern capsule syringes have so extremely thin needles that the patient can hardly feel the needle stick.

However, in case of very sensitive or scared patient we can apply mucous membrane anesthesia with a spray or gel before we inject.

It can happen even in surgical anesthesia

In case of a more complicated wisdom tooth removal, implant insertions, very neglected teeth or having great fear, we can carry out the treatment/intervention in surgical anesthesia. Strict protocol ensures patient safety: in every case before the treatment an ECG and laboratory examination is performed, then the patient will be informed about the course of the treatment, the expected length of anesthesia and the expenditure involved.

Surgical anesthesia is performed by a qualified anesthesiologist who gives the injection
intravenously and monitors the condition and life processes of the patient during the whole intervention all the way to wake-up.

In expert hands the patient just has to follow the agreed specifications and lean back calmly into the dental chair knowing that he/she will not feel any pain and while he/she is relaxing his or her teeth will be turned into beautiful and healthier.

  • Ask for an appointment and do not procrastinate the way leading to a bright smile because pain should be the thing of the past.
