The most modern solution to replace teeth loss is dental implants (implantation). With the help of this up-to-date method the missing teeth will be replaced with titanium-based and allergy-free artificial tooth root. After bone formation, (minimum three months) onto the artificial tooth root we prepare dental bridges, crowns or dental prosthesis. With this method the replacement on the implant can take over the whole function of chewing.
Since implants are very similar to natural teeth, non-professionals will not recognize the difference between them. So we can boldly state that implants work or function the same way as the own teeth had done it before.
Before every dental implantation a digital X-ray is done where we can see clearly the amount of the bone. For computer aided planning we use a CT scan as well after this, we plan the exact number and size of implants and we also decide whether bone grafting is needed or not.
Implantation is carried out with local anaesthesia but upon request of our patients and on the basis of prior consultations with our dental health professional and anaesthesiologists we also offer the possibility of anaesthesia.
After the operation, a control panorama X-ray is taken and our patients are provided with antibiotics, painkillers and iced pads. The sutures are generally removed after a week. In case of dental implant treatments our patients have to count with two treatments. Between the two treatments a three-month long recovery time must be kept at least.
After the healing period we open up the mucous membrane covering the implant in local anaesthesia. The cover screw will be removed, we take a dental impression and place a gum-like screw into the implant, which will be used by the patient until the final prosthetic dentistry is accomplished.
